The Seton Hall Pirates have seen many players that see minimal playing time throughout their freshman year to then grow into a larger role in the years that follow. This could be the case for Pirates forward Sydnee Eggleton, one of the many returners to the Seton Hall team looking to make waves this season.

Eggleton, the sophomore from Thomaston, Connecticut, entered Seton Hall after a standout prep career at both Thomaston High School and the Peddie School in New Jersey. She showed her elite versatility on the court, as she was able to guard all five positions and demonstrate her ability to contribute to a team in many different ways.

This year, Eggleton enters her sophomore campaign with a chance to earn a much bigger role with the team. Although this Seton Hall roster looks to be deep with a mix of veteran talent and a strong returning core, there is a window for her to get more opportunities where a player like her can be a huge spark off the bench.

The energy and hustle that Eggleton brings to the court are more valuable than what is shown in a box score, as well as her ability to space the floor. She is still one of the younger members of the team, but is viewed as the type of player that has some of the most room to grow out of anyone.

A player with Eggleton’s work ethic and patience fits perfectly with Seton Hall’s gritty identity, and Seton Hall fans should not be surprised to hear her name more and more throughout the season, making plays for this team in a big way.
