MILWAUKEE, WI - The Seton Hall Pirates (13-4, 5-1) bounced back on the road in the Al McGuire Center to win a hard-fought victory over the Marquette Golden Eagles (11-6, 3-3), 58-52.

Right from tip-off, both teams brought quite the intensity, setting the tone for a physical game right from the jump. With tough defense on both ends, the teams traded fouls and turnovers back and forth with each other.
But the Pirates defense came up huge throughout the entire game, forcing Marquette to commit 18 turnovers as a team. The way Seton Hall capitalized on the Golden Eagles mistakes was what got them to the finish line.

Jada Eads was once again the star in this one for the Pirates, hitting shots from all over. She put up a game-high 20 points while also racking up three steals on the defensive end. Faith Masonius, who’s been on fire as of late, had another good game for the Pirates. She nearly posted a double double, with 14 points and 8 rebounds.

But one player who quietly was the X-factor for this Seton Hall team in this game was Amari Wright, who really stepped up on defense. She had two clutch steals that lead to big points late in the game, while also having five rebounds and five assists.

Wright had one of the best plays of this game that gave enough momentum for Seton Hall to win.  She hustled down the court to get a clutch steal from behind, leading to Jada Eads launching a long pass across the court to connect with Faith Masonius, who finished off this incredible play with a layup that put the Pirates ahead nine points with eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Another heads-up play at the end of this game was by Kayden Lawson, who got a quick steal-and-score after Marquette initially got a rebound. She was tenacious on the play, which helped put her team up five with less than two minutes to play.

This Seton Hall team has a ton of different ways to win over teams, but their game tonight was all about the defense playing aggressive from start to finish; the team ended the night with 10 total steals.

This was a substantial win in the conference for the Pirates, beating a Marquette team that’s as tough as it gets to play on the road. Their next game will be even tougher, as they head to Gampel Pavillion in Storrs, Connecticut, to face off against the number six team in the nation, the UConn Huskies.
